The Weekly Review – Issue 10

The Weekly Review

It’s been a while. I apologise. What was intended to be a weekly post had not transpired. Life got in the way, but I am here to give it another go. Self-doubt, lack of interest and work got too much. I’m here to push away the excuses and try again.

Writer's block

I haven’t posted much online recently because I wanted to focus on a few projects that were backed up on my project manager (Twos, of course). In doing so, I have lost the passion to write. I’m at that stage where I don’t really care about any hardware, software, or anything tech-related currently, which limits the need to write. It might be worth diversifying my topics, so I am able to write about anything and not be stuck with something I am not passionate about.

Doubling up on Twos

I’ve noticed the past month I am using the Twos app more and other apps less. As I have mentioned in the past, I wanted to take fewer notes and live life more. Twos has allowed me to make simple, concise entries and get on with whatever I am doing without the unnecessary distractions. It is quick and straight to the point. Other than automated tasks and calendar events, I wouldn’t say I am using Apple Calendar, Reminders and Notes these days.

I became a Twos Champion because I believe the app resonates with me than anything else I have used in the many, many years I have used tech. Using Microsoft Windows Notepad back in 1998 is when I started to take notes. Twos app has fortified that belief that writing things down is good for my sanity. I always forget things. Twos has my back.

If you are interested in using Twos to record your daily thoughts, tasks, ideas or projects, use my referral code to claim 200 coins for Pro features on the mobile version of the app. Referral code link: CodeMacLife

Keep calm

In my quest to reduce costs, I cancelled my Calm.com subscription and chose to opt for Stoic app and free meditations online (mostly YouTube). What happened was I drifted away from meditation and mindfulness. I was sucked into the world of overconsumption again.

A chance walk in the countryside without my phone allowed to be to observe the sounds, smells and sights along the way. I remembered the importance of doing nothing and being mindful of the environment. Three days of searching of other mindful experiences and I found myself subscribing to Calm with the 40% off promo (new customers only).

I enjoy using Calm for meditation and music. There are a wealth of guided meditations and areas to develop mindfulness. The daily check-ins, gratitude journal and mood reflections have helped me revisit on how my life is progressing right now. I am calmer, so I guess the re-introduction of calm.com has been helping me connect with the peace I need right now.

Finally…

This is a shorter post than my usual weekly review. The idea is to get whatever is going on, no matter how much is going on right now. I have a busier week coming up, so I can imagine there will be more to come in the next week.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post. If you have any requests to review or comment on a topic, please let me know. I will do my best to respond.
