Why I became a Twos Champion!

applications

In an age where subscription fatigue is real, and many apps force you into monthly payments, finding a note-taking app like Twos is refreshing. Twos doesn’t require a subscription, yet I choose to subscribe, and here's why.

Supporting Development

First and foremost, my subscription helps the Twos team continue to develop and improve the app. While Twos offers a generous free tier, subscribing allows Parker (developer) to keep enhancing the app with new features, faster updates, and better performance. Knowing that my contribution is directly impacting the evolution of a tool I use daily is incredibly satisfying. It feels like I’m part of the app’s journey, not just a user.

Like Twos states on their website — ‘There are no data caps, required subscriptions, or usage restrictions’. Even without subscribing, the desktop has all the features for free. It is only when you get to the mobile and tablet app that you need to purchase the pro features. Better still, the features can be gained by using in-app coins to unlock the features for free. I unlocked them all for free. Knowing I get great value is another reason I felt it was necessary to give something back.

What does the subscription model look like?

  • All upgrades are freely available via the web and desktop apps.
  • On the mobile and tablet applications, upgrades are $2 (one-time), or 200 coins.
  • You can also buy all 29 upgrades for $12 (one-time), saving over 80%.
  • You can access the upgrades in the mobile app in the side menu → settings → upgrades.

On the mobile app, there are three tiers to subscribe to. The name of the subscription model is called Twos Plus, which gives you all future upgrades automatically, a special badge next to your profile, and exclusive sneak peeks and events with Twos HQ.

  • Twos Plus: $2 per month / $20 per year (saving 16%)
  • Twos Believer: $5 per month / $50 per year (saving 16%)
  • Twos Champion: $10 per month / $100 per year (saving 16%)

The Developers: Above and Beyond

The team behind Twos isn’t just any development team. Parker and Joe are incredibly supportive and genuinely care about their user base. Whether it's through prompt responses to feedback, personalised assistance, or active engagement in community discussions, the Twos developers go out of their way to ensure that every user feels valued. I would like to note their YouTube is great fun to watch. They even have competitions to win goodies using the wheeeeeeel! (No, this isn’t a typo). This level of dedication is rare and deeply appreciated. Whether you reach out to members through Twos World or Twos Discord server, you will always find an answer or someone to talk to about a bug, life win or an idea for using Twos.

A Positive Community

Beyond the app and the developers, what truly keeps me subscribed is the vibrant and positive community that surrounds Twos. Users are encouraged to share tips, tricks, and ways they use the app to enhance their productivity. This community spirit fosters a sense of belonging and collective growth. The positivity within the Twos community is infectious, making the experience of using the app even more enjoyable. In a world of X (Twitter), it is wonderful that there is a little corner of positivity on the internet. We all support each other and share our passions without the negativity you would usually find elsewhere.

Like it says at the bottom of Twos’ pricing page, they have a lean operation, but the company needs money to come in to develop the app with features stated in their roadmap. Words cannot describe my excitement about these features, especially attachments, pass codes and voice memos. Maybe one day there will be PDF annotation for iPads?

Why Subscribing Matters

By subscribing, I'm not only investing in a tool that enhances my productivity but also in a community and a team that values its users. It’s a way to show appreciation for the hard work the developers put into the app and to ensure that Twos continues to thrive and innovate.

In conclusion, subscribing to Twos is more than just gaining access to premium features. It’s about supporting a dedicated team, being part of an inspiring community, and contributing to the ongoing development of a tool that makes a difference in my daily life. If you’re looking for a note-taking app that values its users and fosters a positive environment, I highly recommend giving Twos a try.
