Not the most successful Apple Store visit
journalYesterday, I went on a trip to the nearest Apple Store. My wife’s iPhone 14 was on 73% battery health. She had told me multiple times that her phone did not hold charge like it used to. It’s true. Her iPhone appears to be plugged into the wall more than in use these days. The plethora of apps she runs daily is enough to make any phone stress under the pressure.
To replace the iPhone’s battery, it would cost me £95, which is much cheaper than my wife’s suggestion - buy a new iPhone. I am hoping the new battery also improves the performance as I have read online.
Like most things at the Apple Store, I had to book an appointment. I booked for a 2:45pm appointment and went into the store five minutes beforehand to speak to an Apple employee. They were helpful and chatty, which is always a plus. However, I was informed that the phone wouldn’t be ready until 7pm. I was about an hour away from home and I had already spent three hours at the shopping centre. I decided to walk away, so I could return at the early time in hope that the phone could be seen to as earliest as possible. Apple said they would keep the battery for a week. Hopefully, I will get the iPhone 14 fixed next week.
I had chance to browse the store on my visit. The reality of the recent price increases became clearer today. I saw how more expensive everything is. £749 ($1019) for an iPad Air 11” base model! This is crazy. Since switching to a Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 12.7” matte edition, I see how excessively expensive iPads truly are. I paid £299 for mine and I would say it is so much better than the iPad I once owned.
