Minimalist May - May 18
challengeToday was a beautiful day with plenty of sun. It is very rare to have a childless weekend, but this weekend is one of them. The first few hours of the day were used for getting my son to his Scout adventure trip, so I had a busy and productive day.
Diet
I skipped my breakfast because there was a lot to sort out in the morning. For lunch, I had bacon on a sub roll. As my wife and I were alone, I decided to take my wife to one of her favourite places to eat in the evening. The food is always excellent at the Pack Horse Inn (New Mills, England).
I had their ale and wainwright steak pie, homemade chips, vegetables,
and gravy. It tastes wonderful every time I go there.
Finance
Today was one of those days when money bled from my account. Nothing too drastic, but it was certainly noticeable. I had to get my son to his Scout trip at Gulliver’s World adventure park in the morning, meaning I needed fuel for the 105-mile round trip. In the evening, I spent £40 on a meal out, as it is rare for my wife and I to have any time alone without my son.
Caffeine
Another day, another day without caffeine. I was tempted though when I saw three establishments all next to each other — Tim Hortons, Starbucks, and Costa Coffee. I’ve been to Costa about a dozen times. However, I am yet to go into Starbucks or Tim Hortons, which I believe are both expensive.
Exercise
I got my exercise in an unconventional way today. I spent at least five hours grafting it out in the garden. There were plenty of bushes to uproot, mowing and sweeping. I felt those five hours were more gruelling than working out at the gym.
Sleep
I had an early night because I knew I would be driving in the morning. I went to bed shortly after playing on Minecraft for twenty minutes.
