Time to celebrate the weekend. I had a day off on Friday, and it was a great opportunity to get next week planned ahead. The benefit of working a four-day working week means I can focus on work/life admin.

The reason I didn’t post yesterday was there wasn’t anything to really report. The other reason was I went to bed early, meaning I could focus on my energy levels and not writing past a time I thought was too late.

Today, I have sectioned the updates into Thursday (THU) and Friday (FRI) to avoid confusion.

Diet

THU - I had the usual pot of porridge, which I found out is called oatmeal in the US. I prefer the pots because it gives me a portion smaller than I would usually pour myself if I had it in a bowl (50g). The pots are also low in fat, saturates, sugars and salt.
At lunchtime, I had a veggie roast dinner. I tucked into meatballs and pasta in the evening. No snacks were consumed.

FRI - Friday is my treat day. I had a small toasted baguette with low-fat spread for breakfast. At lunch, I had lemon couscous on its own. In the evening, I had egg, homemade chips and beans. Again, no snacks were consumed.

Finance

THU - Nothing spent.
FRI - Nothing spent.

Caffein

THU - I avoided all caffeinated products as usual.
FRI - I tried a sachet of decaf coffee. It tastes like coffee without the kick. I’m happy that I had a try, since I want to switch to decaf permanently after the challenge is over.

Exercise

THU - I kept with the morning routine and a few press-ups in the evening. I was too tired to do any cardio in the evening because work had me running off my feet. I skipped it and went to bed instead.
FRI - As I was off work, I kept with my routine in the morning. However, I immediately spent fifteen minutes on basketball practice, followed by 17 minutes on the cross trainer. In the evening, I completed 15 press-ups and a one-minute plank.

Sleep

I was unbelievably tired last night. I went to bed around 9:20PM. In hindsight, this was probably for the best because my son woke me up at 4:15AM as he was unable to sleep. I’m not sure if the recent exams are playing on his mind.

My post is part of #WeblogPoMo2024. Stay tuned for tomorrow's post.
