Minimalist May - Day 24
challengeI’ve had a relatively easy, lazy day. Being off work has its many perks. Maybe too much time was spent on Forza Horizon 5 today. The new 80s retro neon wave theme and music kept me chasing after those new rewards.
I compiled a playlist on Apple Music called Horizon Wave (FH5) radio, which has all the 80s retro wave music from the game.
Diet
Breakfast - Porridge pot.
Lunch - One portion of plain noodles.
Tea - Fish with lemon dressing, chunky chips and peas.
Finance
No spending whatsoever. I started my outgoings spreadsheet to assess what was going out. Council tax and energy are my two biggest bill payments going out at the moment. Luckily, I noticed this a few months ago, so I reduced all outgoings like subscriptions to lessen the impact.
I also found myself watching three YouTube videos about debt in America. The UK has a different culture around money, but I can see how we are heading in the same direction.
- Why Americans Can’t Keep Their Paychecks (CNBC)
- Why Americans Suck With Money (Austin Williams)
- Why Americans Are Splurging Instead of Saving (WSJ)
Caffeine
I did not have any urges to drink coffee today. Being at home makes me feel at ease and the need to feel ‘alert’ goes away.
Exercise
To be honest, I had a lazy day. I managed to fit a 6-second plank and a dozen press-ups in around 9PM.
According to an article I read on Men’s Health website, I should be able to complete 20 consecutive press-ups. I’m not at that point just yet.

Sleep
I slept really well last night. It must have been the knowledge I did not have to go to work today.
My post is part of #WeblogPoMo2024. Stay tuned for tomorrow's post.
