Minimalist May - Day 5

challenge

Tiredness kicked in today. I also noted my balance and attention wained throughout the day. My tolerance threshold dwindled, making me irritable more than usual. I have not felt tiredness like this before. All I want to do is rest and sleep. Maybe I am trying to do too much at once?

Diet

I managed to go another day without the junk food. However, I am getting bored with the lack of things to snack on. I think I should start to look at healthier alternatives to have after meals.

Finance

I spent more money than I thought I would today. There was the fuel top-up for my car and a quick errand to pick up items that were missed off the shopping from Friday. In addition, I added £250 to the pot for my Mexico trip. I bought my son a drink and cookie after our afternoon at the park. It’s a tradition of ours that I might have to review.

Caffeine

There was a great urge in the morning for a cup of coffee. However, I abstained and went the whole day without caffeine. It wasn’t planned. I felt I didn’t need it. I noticed I felt lightheaded throughout the day, which I’m not sure if this has anything to do with my withdrawal.

Exercise

I’m not sure if this is related to the coffee withdrawal, but I could not be bothered with exercise today. I didn’t do my routine press-ups and plank in the morning. Fortunately, I was able to go on a long walk in the afternoon to a local park with many hills to climb. By 7PM, I was able to squeeze in a 5K cross trainer session.

Sleep

As mentioned yesterday, I set my alarm clock and woke up at 6:30AM. My son’s basketball training had been cancelled, so there was no need to run around to get his things ready. I went back to bed for another hour. I’ve not had this much sleep in a long time. Having said that, I don’t feel any better for it.

My post is part of #WeblogPoMo2024. Stay tuned for tomorrow's post.
